Installer Handover Packages: Drawings, Hardware and Site References
An installer handover package should answer what is supplied, where it belongs and which site tasks remain. It works best when the drawing, physical labels and packing list use the same identifiers. More documents are not helpful if they contain different revisions.
Start with the approved installation interface
Include dimensions, sign position, fixing interfaces and cable-exit information agreed for the job. Identify the wall or support assumptions and items requiring site confirmation. Factory fabrication details should be distinguished from locally designed anchorage, building penetrations and electrical installation.
Map the contents to the drawings
Show which letter, cabinet section, bracket or power component belongs to each sign identifier. Label hardware bags by their intended assembly. If anchors or other site-specific parts are excluded, state that explicitly so the installer can arrange them before attending the site.

Provide usable electrical references
Include the supplied component identities and the approved wiring arrangement, with connections and boundaries clearly identified. State the intended incoming supply information from the project brief. Final connection and site verification belong with appropriately qualified local personnel, who should have a route for resolving discrepancies before work proceeds.
Retain the final installed record
Give the receiver a single release folder with its revision and a contents index. Record changes made during installation and replace superseded documents with the as-built set. This makes future service or replacement work traceable to what was actually installed.
Buyer review checklist
- Approved drawing and revision
- Site assumptions and local scope
- Part and hardware mapping
- Power and connection references
- Unpacking and assembly information
- As-built changes and service records
Does the factory drawing approve the wall anchors?
Only if that scope has specifically been designed and documented by the responsible party. A drawing showing fixing positions does not by itself verify the wall or anchor selection.
