What Are Channel Letters?
LED channel letters are three-dimensional illuminated signs built from individual letters or logos. Each letter has a metal housing (the "can"), an acrylic face or return, and internal LED modules. They are the most common storefront sign type for retail chains, restaurants, banks and office buildings because they offer excellent night visibility, long service life and a professional appearance.

Common Types of Channel Letters
Front-lit (full-face) channel letters: The most popular style. Light shines through the acrylic face, making the letter itself bright. Best for maximum night visibility and bold branding.
Halo-lit (reverse) channel letters: Light shines from the back of the letter onto the wall, creating a glowing halo effect. Premium look for office buildings, hotels and upscale retail.
Dual-lit (front + back) channel letters: Combines both front and halo lighting for maximum impact. Often used for corner buildings and premium brand locations.
Open-face (stock) channel letters: No acrylic cover — exposed LED modules visible. Industrial or vintage aesthetic, less common for retail.
Resin letters: Smooth epoxy resin face with even, glow-free illumination. Popular in shopping malls and luxury retail for its seamless finish.
Mini acrylic letters: Small, thin and lightweight (24mm depth). Designed for indoor reception walls and chain-store interiors.
Trimless letters: No metal trim cap around the acrylic face — a clean, edge-to-edge modern look.
RGB / chameleon letters: Color-changing LED with remote control. Dynamic gradient and chase effects for entertainment venues and events.
Materials and Construction
Standard channel letters use aluminum returns (sides) with 3M or Lucid acrylic faces. Stainless steel is available for coastal or high-corrosion environments. Letter depths typically range from 3 inches (76 mm) to 8 inches (200 mm), depending on viewing distance and required brightness.
How to Order Wholesale Channel Letters
Send us your artwork (AI, EPS, SVG or PDF), the target letter height, number of letters, mounting surface type, and destination voltage. We will prepare shop drawings for your approval before production starts. Order minimum is 1 complete sign or letter set — no MOQ for prototypes.
